Like I said on my main page, I do like to run a radio scanner. My wife and I are a bit nosey but in general it has a breaking news effect with a twist of the audio version of C.O.P.S.
My particular choice of scanners is the Uniden SDS100. This scanner allows me to program channels, hear P25 networks and is location based depending on GPS or a manually added zip code or location and poof you’re being nosey too. You can pull frequencies directly from the RadioReference.com for programming and this makes it SUPER easy!
Bottom line is that if you want a powerful scanner for newsworthy stuff, weather, disaster information, ham radio stuff, etc. I highly suggest this radio.
